As the daughter of a steel merchant, I remember spending my school holidays in the warehouse helping my father. It’s fair to say this industry is in my blood. I’ve been around it for as long as I can remember. I’m proud to be the only female CEO leading a steel company in Australia today. But I’m even prouder to be leading this family business into a second generation and continuing the focus on everything that makes this business great – exceptional customer service and high-quality products and at the best price possible.
Before officially joining the QSS team, I worked for over 12 years in retail construction development for several companies, including Suncorp and Mirvac. From these experiences, I’ve brought new ideas and process into the business that our customers are now benefitting from. I’m the mother of three boys and when I’m not in the office or the warehouse you’ll find me enjoying time with them and my husband.

Going the extra mile and providing hands-on support to our customers is something I take great pride in. I thoroughly enjoy working for a family owned and operated business. The culture at QSS fits well with my personal values around building long term relationships with clients and having a little fun while we do it.
I’ve worked in the steel industry for over 12 years including with a couple of multinational companies. This experience has given me a great understanding of the needs and challenges different clients face. Whether your regional, remote or city based, it’s my responsibility to make whatever you need to happen.
As a father of three boys, I appreciate having a good work-life balance, which QSS supports. Outside of work, I enjoy fishing, camping, dirt bike riding and spending time with my family.

For more than 30 years I’ve had the pleasure of working with a diverse and expansive range of customers across South East Queensland’s steel industry. I’m a big believer in forming partnerships with my customers and providing a level of service that is tailored to meet their individual needs.
I also enjoy working closely with customers who may be experiencing a challenge in their business. By thinking creatively and calling on my years of knowledge in the industry, we can usually find a solution that helps move their business forward.
When I’m not at work you will typically find me catching up with family and friends, going to the gym or supporting the mighty Broncos.
Grant Black
Sales Executive
I have been in the steel industry for 36 years selling a range of product into a variety of different industries. For me it’s about building a relationship with customers, knowing their needs and servicing the account accordingly. Building trust between QSS and their business. The industry has changed quite a bit over my journey. But the one constant has been meeting good people with all sorts of different characters and forging friendships and building a trusted bond. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, especially my grandkids. I also love my sport and thoroughly enjoy having a schooner and punt with my mates.
Peter Ridge
Logistics Manager
As QSS’ Logistics Manager I run day-to-day operations in the warehouse and manage distribution via our fleet of trucks. I make sure we deliver on our customer service promises. That means ensuring each order is processed quickly, packed and loaded carefully, and delivered in the way our customers expect.
I’ve been with QSS for over 30 years. Initially, I started out driving the trucks before moving up into the logistics role. This experience as a driver has proved invaluable in refining our processes including perfecting the way we pack the trucks and knowing the best delivery routes for each customer. QSS treat their staff and customers like family and that’s the type of business I like being part of. When I’m not at work, I enjoy getting away camping and spending time with my wife and family.
